Saved many years ago in the Glencoe district of the Thumb of Michigan and for years in Detroit. With her husband she showed much hospitality to the Lord's servants and others and loved the old paths of the Word to the end. In fellowship in Stark Road Assembly (formerly West Chicago) she will be much missed and we commend her husband to the prayers of the saints, also her daughter in the assembly at Stark Road. Three sons and their families who have heard the Word for years we especially commend to the prayers of His own. We have known this family for over 50 years, her parents of the "old school." Our sister was aged 75."

Born in Leadhills, [[Scotland]], and saved when a lad in his teens, he came to the U.S.A. in 1901. He was in fellowship in Upper Peninsula and Detroit Assemblies and for the last 16 years at West Chicago Blvd. and Stark Road, being faithful in attendance at meeting. He loved to hear the gospel preached and witnessed for the Saviour to all with whom he came in contact. Samuel Barr spoke a faithful word to a good company at the funeral service."

* T&T 1950-9: Detroit, MI: "The tragic and sudden deaths of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas F. Mooney was caused by an automobile accident a few miles north of Saginaw, [[Michigan]]. A speeding car which failed to observe a stop sign at an intersection, struck their car on Sunday afternoon, July 2nd. Mrs. Mooney was killed instantly, and Mr. Mooney was taken to a hospital in Saginaw and died six days later, July 8th. Their youngest daughter, Catherine, aged 13, was also in the car but escaped miraculously with minor injuries. Mrs. Mooney was saved in Sarnia, [[Ontario|Ont.]], and was in fellowship in West Chicago Blvd., Detroit. Mr. Mooney was saved on March 17, 1932, and was in fellowship since in the same assembly. They bore a quiet and consistent testimony for Christ and will be missed. This has caused deep sorrow in the assembly. Bro. F.W. Schwartz spoke at the funeral of Mrs. Mooney, and Bro. L.E. McBain at that of Mr. Mooney. Large companies were present at both services. Prayer is requested for the family and the unsaved relatives. Two sons and two daughters mourn the loss of their parents."

She was born in [[Scotland]] and saved there at the age of 11 after which she was received in the assembly at Busby. She came with her family to the U.S.A. in the spring of 1914. In 1925, she was married to Herbert Spring in Flint, [[Michigan|MI]] and since that time, has been associated with the old Central Gospel Hall in Detroit, later the West Chicago Gospel Hall which is now meeting at Stark Road. Her love for Christ was evident to the end and her cheerful spirit in spite of pain will be remembered by the saints. A daughter, Elaine, and a son, Marvin, who share in that blessed hope, along with three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren mourn her loss. Also, two sisters, Hannah and Margaret, the last of the family of two sons and five daughters of the John Ferguson family. Her husband went Home on June 5, 1982."

She was kind, given to hospitality, loved by all who knew her and will be missed. A large company came for the funeral which was held in the Stark Road Gospel Hall, Livonia. R. Surgenor and W. Warke took the service, and T. Kember read, and P. Elliott prayed at the grave. Remember her husband and servant of the Lord in prayer."** WIS 1967-6: Detroit: "Also on April 13th, our dear sister Mrs. A.T. Stewart was called home suddenly, aged 81. She was saved here when 18 years of age, baptized and received into the fellowship of the old Central Gospel Hall where she continued with her husband for many years, later they were in West Chicago Assembly, now known as Stark Road Gospel Hall. He and Mary were in the old Central Ferndale assembly for five years, and then in the West Chicago Gospel Hall, and for Detroit, until retiring to [[California]] in 1963. At the last number time of years his home-call he was in happy fellowship in the West Chicago AssemblyAtscadero Gospel Chapel. Marked by a deep desire for the Word of God, DetroitFred Thomson read his Bible through yearly for 30 or 40 years.
