===Early Life===
John Henry Fredreck "Jack" Hallier was born April 16, 1898 and raised the first five years of life were spent in Kansas City, MO. His parents were Otto (b. 1863) and Lizzie Hollier Hallier (b. 1864), both born in Germany, married in 1880, and emigrated to the USA in 1895. He John was an orphan at the age of five, and was adopted by Ferdinand Fredric Brunkow and his wife Helena P. Hartwich Brunkow of Onaga, KS. The highest grade John completed, according to a 1940 census was 4th grade.

In 1918 when registering for the WWI draft, John was single, living with and working for his brother-in-law Walter Gruber's father William's farm in Gresham, York, Nebraska.
===Marriage===
He married Reva Agnes Junod (photo below). Reva was born May 29, 1903 in Vermillion, KS to Paul Aime "Amos" Junod and Laura Elizabeth Villeme Junod. Paul was born in 1876 in NeuchatelNods, Bern, Switzerland, died 1943 in Vermillion. Laura was born 1880 in Neuchatel, KS to Peter (1835-1899) and Emile Emilie Julie Mars Villeme (1843-1905). Emile was born in Belfort, France.
