[[William Geisbrecht Neufeld|William G. Neufeld]] was an elder with a heart for evangelism and Bible teaching at [[Fellowship Chapel, SC|Fellowship Chapel]], an open brethren assembly in Duncan, [[South Carolina]].
He was born on Aug. 18, 1927, and married Ruth Elaine Halk (1924-1986), raised in Pontiac, [[Michigan]]. Ruth was the daughter of Charles Halk, Jr. (b. 1890 [[England]] - d. 1959 Clarkston, MI) & Dorothy E. Castleman Halk (1900-1993 MI). William and Ruth had seven children: 
* Judson Neufeld (Palatka, FL)
* John Neufeld (Duncan, SC)
After his wife's death in 1986, he remarried Linda McCartney, a daughter of William G. McCartney, founding editor of ''Letters of Interest'' magazine, and ''Christian Missions Press''.
On July 20, 2005, William died in a plane crash along with fellow preacher Don Welborn, and another, in Saginaw, [[Texas]]. Memorial services were held at First Baptist in Tryon, [[North Carolina]].
