There Lac Mégantic is in the south-eastern part of Québec near the Maine border. Sometime around 1980, Christians living in the area invited [[Cyril Shontoff]] to help them with home Bible studies. These continued for some months and in the spring of that year the group began meeting as an assembly. The work was strengthened when a French young couple from the Sherbrooke assembly relocated here. Others were saved as a result of open brethren -air meetings held during the summer months. Whatever became of this assembly in Lac-Megantic in 1980is not known.
