Edmund was a son of Anthony Rampton (b. 1796 Monk Sherborne, Hampton, England - d. 1878 Monroe Twp., Benton Co., IA) & Mary Ash Rampton (b. 1795 Hampshire, England - d. 1871 Monroe Twp., Benton Co., IA). Mary Jane was a daughter of Warren Elliott (b. 1813 Cayuga Co., [[New York|N.Y.]] - d. 1882 Benton Co., IA) & Catharine Elliott (b. 1812 Herkimer Co., N.Y. - d. 1895 Benton Co., IA). Frank's birthplace, Woods, is in the same county as Vinton, Iowa, where he could have been in fellowship with the Meeting Room there, and relocated to Des Moines between 1901-1905. He was a correspondent for the meeting room by 1908, which he served the duration of his life.
