* Ira Blocher '''1942+''' (b. 1886 Jackson, Jay, IN- d. 1941 Mason City, Cerro Gordo, IA), son of Christian Blocher (b. 1837 Greenville, Darke, OH - d. 1921 Whittier, Los Angeles, CA) & Sarah Spacht Blocher (b. 1844 German, Darke, OH - d. 1910 Foster Co., N.D.). Sarah is buried in the "Brethren Cemetery" in Carrington, Foster, N.D. 1920 Telephone Lineman @ Los Angeles, CA; Ira was a correspondent in Minnewauken, [[North Dakota]] in 1927, then relocating to Mason City Meeting Room in [[Iowa]]. After Ira's death, to Hazel relocated to Des Moines in 1942. * Hazel May Crowell Blocher-Burkeman '''1942-1972''' (b. 1890 Lake Mills, IA - d. 1972 Des Moines, IA), a retired practical nurse, and daughter of Benjamin Crowell (b. 1851 Union, Madison, IN - d. 1918 Fertile, IA) & Jennie Myrtle Wescott Crowell (b. 1857 Albion, N.Y. - d. 1947 Fertile, Worth, IA). Jennie migrated with her parents, George & Elinor Penney Wescott, to Worth County in 1869, regarded pioneer residents of the area, and she was a long-term schoolteacher. Memorial for Jennie was held at Fertile Christian Church, officiated by a pastor of an evangelical church in Manly. ** Leon Ezra Blocher (b. 1919 Long Beach, Los Angeles, CA - d. 2001 Des Moines, Polk, IA). When he registered for the draft in WWII, he was employed as a mechanic for Joe Daniels of Mason City, IA. Wife: Jane Benson Blocher (b. 1917 Mason City, IA - d. 2012 Des Moines, IA), daughter of Elmer Martin "Benny" Benson (b. 1885 Jamestown, N.D. - d. 1945 Manly, IA) & Mable Nutehill Mitchell Benson (b. Manly, IA). Benny Benson was employed 1905-1923 as a professional baseball player, as a 2nd Baseman, 3rd Baseman and Shortstop, in the Minor Leagues, some with the Southern league, four years in the American association with Columbus and Milwaukee, a season with Oklahoma City, and some time with the Three-Eye league.
