J.W.H. Nichols was an author and publisher affiliated with the Grant exclusives. He was born in 1867, and died in 1960. He self-published, as well as via Erie Bible Depot (Erie, [[Pennsylvania|PA), Loizeaux Bros. (NYC, [[New York|N.Y.]]), [[M.R. Johnston Co.]] (St. Louis, [[Missouri|MO]], and others. =Early Life=John was born Dec. 23, 1867 at Cheltenham, Gloucestershire, [[England]].  ==Parents==* John Nichols (b. 1842 Bredon, Worcestershire, Eng.), employed in 1881 as a Master Tailor, employing 12 men and 3 boys to assist. * Elizabeth Nichols (b. 1841 Tewkesbury, Gloucestershire, Eng. - d. 1895 Worcestershire, Eng.)  ==Siblings== * Edward Ernest Nichols (b. 1866 Cheltenham, Eng. - d. 1952 Gosport, Hampshire, Eng.); employed 1911 as "evangelist private means", while living at Glen Home, Barton Terrace, Dawlish, Devon. Wife: Sarah Olivia Taylor Nichols (b. 1873 Dublin, Ireland - d. 1968 Gosport, Eng.), daughter of James Harris Taylor (1832-1878 Dublin, Ireland) & Margaret Wybrants Taylor.** Aubrey Edward Nichols (b. 1901 Stratford-On-Avon, Warwickshire, Eng. - d. 1931 Broadlands Farm Burgess Hill, Sussex, Eng.). In 1927, he was employed as a farmer. ** Margaret Elizabeth Nichols Barney (b. 1906 Stourbridge, Worc., Eng. - d. 1995 Hampshire, Eng.). Husband: Maurice W. Wife (1934 @ Gardnerville, [[Nevada|NV]]): Dorothy Ruth Young Westphal-Nichols (b. 1903 Virginia City, Storey, NV - d. 1995 Sparks, NV), daughter of Charles Willet Young (b. 1876 Gold Hill, Storey, NV - d. 1959 Washoe Co., NV) & Rilla Alice Cochran Young (b. 1884 Virginia City, NV - d. 1954 El Dorado Co., CA). ** Raymond was Dorothy's 2nd husband, her 1st husband: Harry Bradley Westphal (1899-1933 Alameda Co., CA), son of William Julius Westphal (b. 1874 Chicago, Cook, [[Illinois|IL]] - d. 1923 Alameda Co., CA) & Huldah Mabel Bradley Westphal (b. 1874 Oakland, Alameda, CA - d. 1957 El Dorado, CA). Harry & Dorothy had two children, who lived with Ray & Dorothy as late as 1940:*** Harry Bradley Westphal (b. 1923 Alameda Co., CA - d. 1967 Sacramento, CA) *** Frederick Charles Westphal (b. 1925 Alameda Co., CA - d. 1988 Yolo Co., CA) * John Nichols - 1960 @ San Francisco, CA * Hugh Nichols - 1960 @ Victoria, [[British Columbia|B.C.]] * Douglas Nichols - 1960 @ Burlingame, CA * Mrs. Kenneth Grensted - 1960 @ Grover City, CA * Beryl Nichols Birtwhistle - 1960 @ Carmel, CA * Grace Nichols Brockbank - 1960 @ Beverly Hills, CA * Nora Nichols McDougal - 1960 @ Palo Alto, CA - twin sister of Mrs. Kenneth Grensted.  =Death=John spent his final years living at Menlo Park, and died on June 16, 1960 at Redwood City, [[California]]. E. Sheritt of Oakland, credited in John's obit as the "standing pastor of the Plymouth Brethren Church" officiated the memorial service. Besides John & Dorothy's four sons and four daughters, surviving in 1960 were 11 grandchildren, and 3 great-grandchildren.
