On July 30, 1815, Alexander Hamilton was born in Galston, Ayr, [[Scotland]], a son of James Hamilton (b. 1791 Ayrshire, Scot.) & Jean Fulton Hamilton, and infant baptized into the CoS on Aug. 13. James & Jean were married on June 6, 1813 in Galston. Alexander's younger siblings included: Margaret, James, John, Jean, Helen, George & William. Jean must have died young, for 1841 has James married to Helen (b. 1801 Ayr, Scot.)  In 1840, Alexander he married Margaret Muir at the First Baptist Church of Montreal, where they were both registered to be residing, indicated to be a "merchant of the city of Montreal", he owned a dry goods establishment in 1842 at 143 Notre Dame St. The wedding was officiated by Benaiah Hoe (1808-1873 Clifton, Gloucester, [[England|Eng.]], formerly of Tabernacle Baptist of New York. It was witnessed by Luther H. Holton (forwarder @ Queen St.) & Rollo Campbell (printer @ St. Joseph St.).
In 1853, Alexander resided @ 73 Hughson, Hamilton, and operated the "Hamilton & Kneeshaw" drugstore @ 2 West King. There was another Alexander Hamilton the same year employed as a grocer @ 18 & 20 King William, Hamilton. By 1856, the drugstore was rebranded "Hamilton, Muir & Co.", chemists and druggists, located at the corner of King & James thru 1858. In 1856, Alex still resided at the same address, but removed to West Ave., opp. Rebecca by 1858.

** Sarah Jane "Jennie" / "Jeanie" Fulton Hamilton Gills '''+1871-1881+''' (b. 1851 [[Ontario|ON]] - d. 1917 Wilkinsburg, Allegheny, [[Pennsylvania|PA]]). 1881 @ Wentworth married George B. McCullough, an Episcopalian druggist. Wedding officiated by W.B. Curran, and witnessed by her sister Annie, and Dr. G. McLarty of St. Thomas, ON which is where they relocated by 1882, and had two children. George was raised among the "Disciples" in Wellington, ON.
