* In the ''[https://www.newspapers.com/image/93794934 Roseburg News-Review]'' for Feb. 16, 1937 (p. 4), there was mention headlined "'Plymouth Brother' Dated In Roseburg".
** "Elliott McAllister, of [[California#Los_Angeles|Los Angeles]], is announced by the [https://fpcrose.org/ Roseburg Presbyterian] church as its speaker for Wednesday evening, this week. Mr. McAllister is a "Plymouth Brother" by affiliation. The Plymouth Brethren, or, as they prefer to be called, "Brethren" are doctrinally similar to all Calvinistic bodies in belief, but do not believe in ecclesiastical organization. [[John Nelson Darby]], who led the movement in 1800 (sic), was a Bible teacher of world note. The Plymouth Brethren are said to have influenced the views of Bible scholars in all churches. The service Wednesday evening will be held in the church auditorium at 7:30 o'clock. The public is invited."
