TIG 2003-9-9: "Jeanette Brady Parks, 88, of Indiana, went home to be with the Lord on Sat., Sept. 6, 2003, at St. Andrew's Village. A daughter of Scottish immigrants, John and Annie "Nannie" Fleming Lindsay, she was born Jan. 6, 1915, in the little coal-mining town of Jenner, in Somerset County. Mrs. Parks graduated from Cairnbrook High School in 1932. The single most important event in her life occurred when she was a young woman of 20. She had learned from God's Word, the Bible, that she was a sinner, and that she needed a Savior. She understood the truth of Calvary, that when Christ died on the cross, He was paying for her sins. She accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as her personal Savior, and from that moment on, was ready for Heaven, and for all eternity. She and her husband, Bill, were married on July 11, 1947, having 56 very happy years together. She loved to take care of others, and their home was marked by Christian love and open hospitality. For many years, they were in happy fellowship with the Christians meeting in the Indiana Gospel Hall... (Survivor list)... She was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband, David Brady; her brothers Jimmie and Bobby; and one sister, Lizzie. All were saved by the marvelous grace of God. Friends will be received from 6:30 to 9 p.m. Wed., at Robinson-Lytle Inc., Indiana, where funeral services will be held at noon Thursday with her son, Alan, a full-time evangelist, and evangelists Harold Paisley and James Smith, both of Ontario, officiating. Interment will be in Oakland Cemetery where her body will await the resurrection, at the returning of the Lord Jesus Christ."
