Janice was a sister of Dr. Donald Ahrenholz (who married Douglas Dunkerton's sister Margaret). In 1968, Douglas was a math teacher at Hoover Junior High School, and Janice was a 2nd grade teacher at Washington Irving Elementary. Catherine Ahrenholz's mother was Mary Dawson Leask Hollopeter (b. 1889 Mason City, IA - d. 1975 Waterloo, IA), a daughter of William Leask, Sr. (1855-1940), who was Douglas Dunkerton's paternal great-grandfather.
