Orrie's emigrating ancestor was Robert Ransom (b. 1598 Suffolk, Eng. - d. 1675 Plymouth, MA) who emigrated to the U.S. in 1654, as per ''Founders of Early American Families''. His first wife was Lucy Purefoy (b. 1590 Leicester, Eng. - d. 1657 Elizabeth City, VA).
