Earle was commended by the open assembly in Sturgis to full-time resident work in 1942. He was employed as a bookkeeper, and later joined the local [https://sturgisnaz.org/ Church of the Nazarene], where his funeral was held, officiated by A.W. Gould, after two days illness that led to his death at the age of 49. He continued his lay ministry for the duration of his life.
