Paul Broegeler emigrated to the U.S. in 1911, married in 1915 in Paterson, and in 1916 residing at 381 Crosby Ave. In 1918, they were was residing in an 1885 house at 57 Zabriskie St., Haldedon as a German alien. In 1920, he became a U.S. citizen, employed as a weaver at a silk millwhere he was still employed in 1931.

The couple also marked the event at an open house reception on Saturday. The celebrants were married July 3, 1915 in Newark. Mrs. Broegler is the former Julia Ermertz. They have resided in the Hillcrest section for 43 years."
