→Weitemeyer family
George & Margaret met at Emmaus University in 1962, and were married in Alameda Co., CA in 1964. Margaret was saved in 1956 under the ministry of Billy Graham at his Cow Palace crusade, and started attending Fairhaven Bible Chapel in California.
George Weitemeyer is at least the third George in his family. His father, George Louis Weitemeyer, was employed in Chicago as a printer in 1950. His maternal grandparents were Thomas Carrick (b. 1888 Dumbarton, Scot. - d. 1942 Chicago, IL) & Elizabeth Duff Miller Bitcon Carrick (b. 1891 Dumbarton, Scot. - d. 1989 Grand Rapids, MI). Regarding "Duff Miller", there was a silversmith called "Duff & Miller" on 50 Ropework Ln. in Glasgow, Scotland in the late 1880's. See Carrick family.
In 1950, Margaret's father, John Aston (1907-1974) was employed in Oakland in a sheet metal shop. John's father, John Thomas Aston (b. 1878 Indianapolis, IN - d. 1945 Livermore, Alameda, CA), was employed in the same industry in 1910 in East Saint Louis, Illinois, and previously as a butcher. John Sr.'s father was William Aston (b. 1842 Newland, Gloucestershire, England).
