This was the childhood assembly for Evelyn Anderson, a graduate of [[Emmaus Bible College|Emmaus Bible School]], who was martyred, along with Beatrice Kosin, by Vietnamese communists in Laos in the early 1970's while on a short-term missions trip with Sam Mattix & Lloyd Oppel. See [https://www.thedailyreporter.com/story/news/2016/05/28/honoring-all-who-died-in/28415544007/ The Daily Reporter] for a 2016 retelling of the story.
Lloyd Oppel, one of Evelyn's teammates, wrote [https://www.amazon.com/Eye-Tempest-Lloyd-Oppel-ebook/dp/B078ZZ47WC Eye of the Tempest] in 2018 detailing it from his perspective. [[Letters of Interest]] did a story in Oct. 1973 on the situation that can additionally be found [https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/otabjn1p2tufwkktz61wh/October-1973.pdf?rlkey=racwuy2gb0qcnt9jrch7rssb6&dl=0 here].
