John Gorgas resided in Kenilworth, Philadelphia and Morganville, before moving to Chatham in 1985. He studied at Drexel Institute of Technology in Philadelphia, and was employed 45 years for Bell Telephone Systems, as a systems engineer specializing in military telecommunications switching at Bell Labs, and credited with several inventions.
