[https://truthandtidings.com/2017/08/tidings-251 T&T 2017-8]: "Margaret Alexander (nee Shirley) of St. Marys, ON on May 29 2017. Born in Holywood, N. Ireland, she was saved at age seven and later received into fellowship at the Wallace Avenue assembly in Lisburn, NI. After immigrating to Toronto, ON at 21, she fellowshipped at Pape Avenue. In 1987, she married widower Hubert Alexander, became a mother of his three daughters, and enjoyed the fellowship in Peterborough until they relocated to St. Marys, ON in 1993. Her wisdom and experience made Margaret a “mother in Israel” to all, and she taught Sunday school for many years, being burdened for the young. Fred Krauss preached the gospel at the large funeral. Glen Woodside spoke at the committal on Margaret’s life and how all were touched by her kindness and compassion. She is survived by her husband Hubert, daughters Ruth Potter (Keith), Olive Hildebrandt (Steve), and Caroline Hackett (Bryan) as well as sisters Edith Shirley and Ethel Thompson (Alan)."

He was saved as a teenager following deep conviction of sin after a night of partying. Eric later moved to Toronto, ON, and was in fellowship at the Pape Avenue assembly. While there, he married Helen Stringer and they were blessed with two children. During their later years, they were in fellowship in the Oshawa, ON, assembly. Following Helen’s homecall, he moved back to Bancroft but health issues prevented him from attending meetings. Eric loved the gospel and God’s assembly. He had a shepherd`s heart, encouraged young believers, and loved to help small assemblies. During the memorial service, his great-nephew spoke on behalf of the family. Gary Oakes spoke on his faithful testimony, Ken Nicholson preached the gospel, and Mark Freymond gave words of appreciation before closing in prayer. Please pray that God will speak to his remaining family."
[https://truthandtidings.com/2022/02/tidings-306 T&T 2022-2]: Homecalls: Helen Armstrong of Oshawa, ON, on November 19, 2021, age 90. She was not raised in a Christian home, but at the age of 13, while walking alone down a country road and under the conviction of sin, she put her trust in the Savior. Helen’s life proved the reality of conversion. In 1964, she married Eric Armstrong and they were blessed with two children, Bryon and Julie. They were in happy fellowship in Pape Avenue, West Hill, and in later years in the Oshawa assembly. Helen was a happy saint who appreciated God’s assembly. She always had a concern and care for younger believers. Helen suffered a stroke and was unable to attend meetings for several years until the Lord saw fit to call her home. Gary Oakes and Ken Nicholson shared the gospel and spoke words of encouragement at the memorial service. * Eric Armstrong '''+1964+''' (b. 1934? - 2024 Bancroft, ON)* Helen Stringer Armstrong'''+1964+''' (b. 1931 - d. 2021 Oshawa, ON)

She was born in 1928 and saved in 1940 after experiencing God’s kindness through Jim and Margaret Heels in the Sunday school work at the Waubaushene Gospel Hall. With her husband Ernie, Barbara faithfully served at the Pape Avenue, Newmarket and Lansing assemblies. Her hospitality will be remembered by literally thousands of family, friends, neighbors, and strangers who were welcomed warmly into her home to enjoy world-class homemade pies and butter tarts. The family appreciates the generosity and care of the believers meeting at Lansing who loved Barbara and Ernie in a practical manner with continual care, visits, calls, and meals. Barbara made sure that her many excellent palliative caregivers listened to the gospel message from her own lips. Pray for her husband of 65 years, Ernie, their two children and their spouses, four grandchildren and their spouses, and two great-grandchildren."

William and his fiancée Ada Kissick came to Canada in 1948. They were married in 1950, and blessed with three sons and one daughter. In 1956, Ada was saved in gospel meetings with Albert Joyce and Harold Paisley in the Pape Avenue assembly. Her testimony spoke to William and he also came to the Savior. William was a man of prayer and a student of the Word. He was in the Pape Avenue, West Hill, Oshawa, Peterborough, and Tampa assembles. His final weeks were spent at home in N. Ireland, where he suddenly took ill. With his face beaming, he said, “I am ready and I’m going home.” The funeral took place in N. Ireland. His nephew, Andrew Campbell, preached the gospel and offered words of encouragement at the grave. Pray for the family."

Ireland in 1948 to Ontario and were married in June 1950. Their 66-year marriage was blessed with three sons and one daughter. Ada was a true helpmeet to Bill and her children rise up to call her blessed. Although she was raised in the gospel, she never got saved until she attended meetings held by Harold Paisley and Albert Joyce in Pape Avenue in September 1956. Ada was a quiet and very happy Christian, always with a smile and lovely disposition. She loved God’s people and appreciated the assembly. Most of all, she loved prayer and her Savior whom she longed to see. Over her 60 years of fellowship, she was in Pape Avenue, West Hill, Oshawa, Peterborough, and Tampa assemblies. Words of comfort were given to the family by Ken Nicholson. Pray for the comfort of her elderly husband and her children."

A short time after, her husband Gordon also professed. A year later, he was called home and left her to raise her young daughter Linda. Emily was received into fellowship at Pape Avenue, and later moved to Oshawa, where she was in fellowship for nearly 50 years. She had a burden for souls and distributed thousands of tracts. Even when almost blind, she continued tract distribution on streets with drug addicts. She saw some of her own relatives saved. She loved God’s assembly and prayed for every saint daily.
