Wife (1948): Lola Jean Bemiller Calderhead (b. 1926 Johnsville, Montgomery, OH - d. 2022 Mansfield, OH), daughter of Franklin "Frank" Emerson Bemiller (b. 1884 Butler, Richland, OH - d. 1957 Richland Co., OH) & Bessie "Bess" Windbigler Bemiller (b. 1889 Morrow Co., OH - d. 1970 Mansfield, OH). Jim enlisted in the U.S. Army on Sept. 8, 1943 and served with Co. 1, 502nd Parachute Infantry in combat, including battles in Normandy, Rhineland, Ardennes and in Central Europe.
