Willis was a son of Henry Irving Lounsbury (b. 1837 North Stamford, CT - d. 1876 Stamford, CT) & Susan Ophelia Scofield Lounsbury (1839-1917 Stamford, CT). Susan was a daughter of Ebenezer Bell Scofield (1805-1875), a son of Ezra Scofield (1774-1831), a son of Abraham Scofield (1736-1812), a son of Nathaniel Scofield (1688-1769), a son of John Scofield (1648-1699), all born in Stamford.
