The 1949 LoG lists a KCKS residency: "Mrs. Ruth Brown and daughter, 3924 Cambridge. BB at [" KCMO]. 1950 LoG deletes the daughter. In 1950, Ruth was self-employed for many years as a seamstress for drapery and slipcovers for many interior decorators including Duff-Repp & Vanderkolk, Oscar worked in a related field.
Ruth's parents were married in Sterling, KS in 1904 and settled initially in Lindsborg. Her maternal grandfather was Thomas Jefferson Heter (b. 1857 Flat Rock, Seneca, OH - d. 1913 Sterling, KS), who settled north of Sterling in 1878. Ruth was later a member of the (OB) Spruce Hill Bible Chapel, the Christian Women's Club, and a longtime volunteer for [https://cityunionmission.org] in KCMO, as well as 19 years for the [https://www.jkv.org/ John Knox Village].** Julia May Brown Kracht-Hoobery (b. 1929 KCMO - d. 2016 Olathe, Johnson, KCKS). 1st husband (1948): Cloyd Joseph "Red" Kracht (b. 1922 Marysville, Marshall, KS - d. 2011 Shawnee, Johnson, KCKS), son of Louis Carl Ludwig Kracht (b. 1891 Bremen, Marshall, KS - d. 1977 Johnson Co., KCKS) & Emilie Marie Svoboda Kracht (b. 1903 Bremen, KS - d. 1996 KCKS). Red & Julia were in fellowship with the (OB) [[Bible Chapel of Shawnee, KCKS]] for many years, including helping with many Vacation Bible Schools. They also served with [[Youth for Christ]] for many years where they met Joe & Joyce Hoobery and ministered together many years. After Red Kracht and Joyce Hoobery passed away, Julia married Joe Hoobery, and continued serving the Lord another four years.
