Fassett family
From +1878-1880+, there was a meeting at St. Joseph in the home of [[John Fiske Barnard]], where John Wells of KCMO likely commuted to. H.C. was correspondent +1879-1880+.
The LoG's from that time period show John Wells' address was c/o W.M. Wyeth & Co. (1859-1989), later known as the Wyeth Hardware & Manufacturing Co. founded by [[https://stjosephmuseums.fandom.com/wiki/William_Maxwell_Wyeth William Maxwell Hyeth] (1832-1901), inherited by son [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Huston_Wyeth Huston Wyeth] (1863-1925). See their [https://archive.org/details/WyethHardwareAndMfgCoCatNo1041914 1914 catalog]. Harmon Fassett was also employed with W.M. Wyeth, having worked for him as a clerk from 1872-1889 and was at the time of his death regarded to having been "one of the oldest and most trustworthy employees".
He was also a Civil War veteran, having served as Captain of Company I, 77th Indiana volunteers, seeing service under Buell & Rosecrans. After the War, he returned to St. Joseph and assisted in outfitting two trains of Schuttler wagons to cross the plains to [[Idaho]]. Then was employed by [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nave_%26_McCord_Mercantile_Company Nave & McCord]'s Mercantile company before joining W.M. Wyeth's hardware company about 1872.
