Itinerant evangelist Thomas Erskine resided in Topeka, Shawnee Co., [[Kansas]] in 1913, and may have commuted to Troost, or held meetings in his home. There was also an open assembly in Topeka in 1890 known as [[Topeka Gospel Hall, KS|Topeka Gospel Hall]] which could have been still active then, no relation to the current [[Topeka Gospel Chapel, KS|Topeka Gospel Chapel]], which was started in 1948.
