* Winfield Scott Russell (b. 1876 Anderson, [[South Carolina|SC]] - d. 1959 Oteen, Buncombe, [[North Carolina|NC]]), son of Lawrence Orr Russell (b. 1854 SC) & Susie Wiles Russell-Pettigrew (b. 1845 Anderson Co., SC). In 1880, the family resided in Dark Corner, Anderson Co., SC. From 1899-1901, Winfield served in the military. In 1910, he was employed as a soft drink salesman in Birmingham. In 1940, he was employed as a private detectivein Los Angeles, and in 1950 retired in Beverly Hills.
