Harmon's parents were William David Davenport St. John (b. 1855 Marion Co., GA - d. 1918 Union Parish, LA) & Fannie Marie Welch St. John (b. 1872 Union Co., AR - d. 1900 Bernice, Union, LA). Fannie was a daughter of Lawrence Hansford Welch (b. 1831 Hazlehurst, Copiah, MS - d. 1913 Panola Co., TX), and also a descendant of Richard Welsh Sr. (b. 1600 U.K. - d. 1680 Maryland, who emigrated in 1632, as well as John Walter "Lord Collieston" Welch (b. 1524 Nithsdale, Colliston, Scotland - d. 1602 Dunscore, Scot.).
    • Bruce had a sister, Margaret Frances Selman Hackney (b. 1943 Tarrant Co., TX - d. 1970 Fort Worth, Tarrant, TX). Her husband was David Earl Hackney, Sr. (b. 1943 Tarrant Co., TX - d. 1970 Fort Worth, TX).
    • He was also a grandson of William Howard Selman (b. 1889 Tarrant Co., TX - d. 1967 Rendon, TX) & Della Lavina Oliver Selman (b. 1891 Hopkins Co., TX - d. 1970 Rendon, TX); and a great-grandson of:

Benjamin was a son of Willis Franklin Selman (b. 1817 Pike Co., MS - d. 1857 Alto, Cherokee, TX) & Melinda Caroline Oldham Selman (b. 1819 S.C. - d. 1878 Alto, Cherokee, TX).
      • Maternal: Alon Howard Oliver (b. 1860 Truits Store, Shelby, TX - d. 1894 Mansfield, Tarrant, TX) & Louisa "Lulu" Olive Rice Crowston-Oliver (b. 1871 Brooking, Jackson, MO - 1908 Mansfield, TX). Lulu's first husband was Thomas Hightower Crowston (b. 1874 Hopkins Co., TX - d. 1921 Hagansport, Franklin, TX).
    • He was also a direct descendant of William Salmon (b. 1610 London, Suffolk, Eng. - d. 1657 Long Island, Queens, N.Y. & Margaret Holford Salmon (b. 1617 Eng. - d. 1657 Long Island, N.Y.). Both died the same day, May 13th, and are laid to rest at the "old burying ground" of the First Presbyterian Church in Southold, Suffolk, N.Y.

William's only child was Jonathan "John" Selman (b. 1645 Ludlow, Shropshire, Eng. - d. 1707 Davidsonville, Anne Arundel, Province of Maryland).

Bomar Selman 1989-2022+ (b. 1947 Tulare Co., CA), daughter of Owen Eugene Bomar (b. 1919 Hill Co., TX - d. 1984 Fort Worth, TX) & Bessie Turner Conlin-Bomar (b. 1913 Alvarado, Johnson, TX - d. 2002 Fort Worth, TX). Owen was the son of John Sidney Bomar (b. 1897 Morgan, Bosque, TX - d. 1949 Ellis Co., TX) & Marinda Estella Cavender Bomar (b. 1898 Somervell Co., TX - d. 1946 Grandview, Johnson, TX). He was also a descendant of William Johnson Bomar (b. 2-14-1776 Halifax, VA - d. 1854 Sherman, Grayson, TX), and Edward B. Bomar (b. 1700 Awtry, Devon, Eng. - d. 1766 Essex, VA).

He studied at Northeastern University, and served as vice-president at Merrill Lynch in DFW, Banque Lombard Odier in Lausanne, Switzerland, Chief Officer at Investbank in Jordan, Exec. Director at PROBUS in Dubai, and in more recent years competed worldwide as a professional poker player.
