William W. France

Dr. William W. France was born near Blairstown, New Jersey on Jan. 21, 1831, the son of Richard and Isabella France, and moved to Delaware around 1862, and to Milford, DE in 1867 where he practiced dentistry for forty years.   He was listed as a correspondent in 1879 for the Lincoln Exclusive Brethren Hall, alongside George L. Stevens.

Marriage

Dr. France married Lanah Hankison on July 4, 1853 in Stillwater, New Jersey at the First Presbyterian Church. She was born Aug. 28, 1830, the daughter of Thomas & Elsey Hankinson, from Hardwick, Warren Co., NJ., and died Aug. 1, 1925.

Children

  • Jessie L. France (1863-1910) was born in NJ and married Ira E. Blazer in 1884, and lived in Phillipsburg, NJ.

Death

Dr. France died on May 23, 1907 at his home on N. Front St., Milford, DE and was buried in the Odd Fellows Cemetery.
