See Branches of Plymouth Brethren to explain abbreviation types (although in short: OB (& TW-P) are Halls & Chapels within the "open brethren" (although GH's (generally) maintain a separate network from the Chapels). EB/TW/TW-N are "Careful" Brethren (similar to OB Halls), and BC are (generally) independent community churches with early or indirect PB influence, and will (usually) not consider themselves "Brethren").

The above primer link expands on the abbreviations, and also contains introduction to this (and other) sheets within the overall History. There have been scores of branches with their own distinctive networks and strengths within the history of the PB, and many branches continue to flourish today, and while no assembly or gathering is identical to the others, each is thought to maintain a fervent desire for simplicity in gathering around the Lord Jesus, though practices and secondary doctrines may vary culturally and/or preferentially as autonomous (yet inter-dependent) local churches.

Assemblies are sorted geographically, and will, D.V., eventually have further history within. Red links on Brethrenpedia are presently undeveloped, and blue links contain data. It also indicated that he was "born and educated in England", and arrived in Halifax at the age of 30 representing the Cunard Steamship Line, and he remained there for 30 years, where he married Isabella, where it is noted that she was a grand-niece of "Hon. Joseph Howe, one time Secretary of State for Canada, and also Lieutenant-Governor of Nova Scotia". James' father, Albert Pennington (b. 1811 Islington, Sussex, Eng. - d. 1874 London, Eng.), was a schoolmaster in 1851 in West Hackney, Middlesex, England.

He was a strong supporter of the Bible Society and Mission organizations and his special gift was the exposition of scripture, and in the delivery of simple gospel messages. He was a member of the diocese and the synod and was there much respected... He was a member of the Corresponding Committee of the Colonial and Continental Church Society in which he took a particular interest. There was no good work in Halifax in which he was not interested."

        • As per FindAGrave, the Anderson family was prominent in Halifax. George was "the senior partner in the dry goods firm Anderson, Billings and Co. that was begun by his father, the late Hon. John Hawkins Anderson, who was a Member of the Legislative Assembly of Nova Scotia (MLA) and was appointed by Royal Proclamation to the first Canadian Senate as a Liberal Senator at Confederation. The Anderson house, now a historic site, was built to showcase of his new prominence in his father's firm and in Halifax society. George Ritchie Anderson attained the rank of colonel in the local militia and was an aide-de-camp to the Lieutenant Governor of Nova Scotia. His other achievements included: director of the Union Band, director of the Halifax Gas Company, and member of the managing committee of the Deaf and Dumb Asylum."
      • Daughter: Susan Helen Anderson Connell (1877-1919 Halifax, NS). Husband: Charles Herbert Newton Connell (b. 1876 NB - d. 1951 Vancouver, BC).
        • If this is the correct C.H.N. Connell, he was a retired district engineer with the Canadian railroad, and also the grandson of the first postmaster general in Canada, Charles Connell (1810-1873) who was the first to place royalty other than reigning monarch on a postage stamp, and resigned his position after placing his own picture on a stamp in defiance of politics of the day including converting to a decimal system.           • Bellevue is the oldest public hospital in the United States, founded in 1736 in NYC's first permanent almshouse at City Hall Park. It is also presently one of the largest hospitals, with 844 beds, a 25-story patient care facility, an attending physician staff of 1200, and an in-house staff of 5,500. It is regarded a safety net hospital, providing healthcare for individuals regardless of their insurance status or ability to pay, handling over half a million patient visits annually, according to Wikipedia.
            • It opened the first maternity ward in the U.S. in 1799, and by 1867, Bellevue physicians were "instrumental in developing New York City's sanitary code, the first in the world". The school was founded in 1861, the first medical college in New York, followed by the first nursing school in the U.S. in 1873, based on Florence Nightingale's principles, the first children's clinic in 1874, the first emergency pavilion in 1876, and a psychiatric hospital in 1879, considered "revolutionary" at the time.

The township of Lunenburg is stated in 1870 by Haliburton, according to History of the County of Lunenburg, by Mather B. Desbrisay, to be the 2nd oldest settlement formed by the English government in Nova Scotia, of which Halifax is the oldest.

        • The immigrating ancestors was Johann Martinus Kaulbach (b. 1730 Dierdorf, Germany - d. 1792 Mahone Bay, Lunenburg, NS) & Anna Magdalene Koch Kaulbach (b. 1733 Germany - d. 1813 Dutch, Lunenburg, NS), married in the Dutch Reformed Church in Lunenburg, which Johann may have been one of the earliest founders.
          • In 1870, when the Lunenburg history was written, John Henry Kaulbach (1796-1878) was serving as the High Sheriff (until his death), and his mother, Anna Barbara Zwicker Kaulbach (b. 1768 - d. 1871 Lunenburg, NS) was the oldest county resident, reaching her hundredth birthday.
            • It was noted that she had 119 living descendants (and 44 ones not living)... "she yet retains the use of all her faculties, except that she is in some measure deprived of hearing; recollects the events of her earliest years; and reads and knits without spectacles." On the anniversary of her birth, Feb. 11, 1869 she received more than 100 visitors at her home, "and in the evening, entertained a large number of her relatives. Before the latter separated, prayers were offered by Rev. H.L. Owen with thanks for God's extended goodness to His aged servant." And on her 101st birthday, she "went out for a sleigh drive, and dined with the Hon. John Creighton".
              • Anna's husband was John Henry Kaulbach, Sr. (1758-1833), a brother of Johann Peter Kaulbach (1755-1839) who is direct ancestor of Barnford Kaulbach and his descendants.

Memorial service for Lenon was at Nineveh Gospel Hall, officiated by Albert Hull & James Walmsley.

Pleasantville

It would appear that Capt. J.B. Sarty's kin mostly married descendants of fishermen. Jacob Sarty served as managing owner of a schooner known as the "Darling" from 1886-1895, which had 14 paid crew in 1888 (and resided at La Have). Also in 1888, William Sarty was managing owner of the Cymbeline, also of La Have. In 1904 & 1905, J.B. managed (and/or owned) the "Ophir" (#111704), registered at the Lunenburg port, which had 15 paid crew, and received $189 in fishing bounty that year. On a note of unknown relation, Benjamin Sarty was the first S.S. Superintendent at Pleasantville Baptist Church in 1887, and Jacob's immediate family was Baptist prior to PB.
